Representatives of India and Nepal agreed, at the meeting held on July 28 and 29, to spepd up inspection, repair, and border pillar maintenance along the two-nation border, diplomatic sources stated.
Both sides finalized a work plan for the next three years and agreed to use state of the art technologies in matters related to surveying.
The India-Nepal border includes the Himalayan territories, as well as the Indo-Gangetic Plain.
The current border was delimited after the 1816 Sugauli Treaty between Nepal and British India.
The 7th meeting of the BWG, the highest-level bilateral mechanism for border work, addressed the resumption of technical work, the Kathmandu Post reported, citing sources.
