Jordan strengthens humanitarian aid to Gaza

Amman, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) today made a new aerial launch over the Gaza Strip, delivering about 82 tons of food and supplies to the besieged civilian population.

The operation, led by the Royal Jordanian Air Force, involved aircraft from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, France, Italy and Singapore, bringing the total number of launches to 155, since the resumption of operations on July 27.

Jordan has also participated in 344 joint missions with partner countries, so far reaching to about 770 tonnes of humanitarian aid delivered by air.

In parallel, the Hashemite Charity of Jordan (JHCO) sent its 190th land convoy to Gaza, consisting of 43 trucks loaded with food, coordinated with the FAJ.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli noted that restrictions on border crossings and attacks on convoys limit the delivery of aid, and called for international action to ensure the safe and timely arrival of supplies.

Shibli stressed that Jordan will continue its air launches in cooperation with regional and international partners to assist the most affected families, especially in areas inaccessible due to the current humanitarian crisis.

Another pillar of the humanitarian response is the “Restoring Hope” initiative, launched in September 2024 under royal guidelines, to provide prostheses to victims of war-related amputations, in coordination with the Royal Medical Services and JHCO.
