Hungary rejects Ukraine’s threats on Druzhba pipeline

hungary-accuses-eu-of-trying-to-sabotage-peace-plan-for-ukraine
Budapest, Aug 25 (Prensa Latina) Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó rejected Ukraine's threats and described the attacks on the Druzhba pipeline as an attack on national sovereignty, according to statements on his official profile.

Szijjártó thus responded to recent statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who warned of potential consequences for countries that maintain energy cooperation with Russia.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister emphasized that his government considers energy supply a fundamental pillar of its national security, and therefore any attack against this infrastructure constitutes a hostile act.

He affirmed that the conflict in Ukraine in no way justifies the violation of Hungarian sovereignty and demanded an immediate cessation of the threats emanating from Kiev.

Political analysts point out that this stance reflects Budapest’s determination to protect its national interests, even in the face of pressure from the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
