The agreement was signed by the PCF’s national secretary, Fabien Roussel, and the head of the delegation of the PCC’s Central Committee at the event, Juan Miguel Garcia, accompanied by personalities such as the Cuban ambassador to France, Otto Vaillant, and the communist leader Andre Chassaigne, Former MP and former Chairman of the Friendship Group between the two countries in the National Assembly.
The parties agreed that the document signed was historic and marked a new stage in exchanges, cooperation and friendship between the organizations.
The agreement includes actions ranging from sending delegations between the parties to address communication, operational, economic and ideological issues to strengthening cooperation in political formation and in the battle on social networks.
It also reflects the commitment of the PCF and the PCC to promoting meetings of mass and social organizations, including youth and trade unions, as a way to boost international solidarity.
The French communists reiterated their rejection and condemnation of the blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades.
The organization in France is carrying out a campaign of solidarity with the island, which includes political actions and the sending of containers with essential items to alleviate the consequences of the economic, commercial and financial siege.
For its part, the PCC appreciated the support, denounced Washington’s aggressiveness and stressed the resistance of the Cuban people.
