Israeli army invades Syrian areas, kidnaps one civilian

Damascus, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli army carried out a new incursion into southern Syria today, where it raided homes in the town of Rafid, in the province of Quneitra, and kidnapped a Syrian citizen.

According to local residents, an Israeli military convoy of more than 10 armoured vehicles advanced towards Rafid, remained in the area for several hours and retreated after capturing a civilian youth whose identity has not been revealed.

Earlier on the same day, another Israeli force moved towards the town of Saysoun, located west of Dar’a governorate.

The local broadcaster Daraa 24 reported that at least 18 Israeli military vehicles were deployed at two strategic points in the town.

During the operation, Tel Aviv soldiers conducted house searches on the pretext of searching for weapons, although no arrests were reported in that area, according to local residents.

These actions is added to a series of recurrent incursions by Israeli forces along the separation line in the occupied Syrian Golan.

Operations include both aerial drone surveillance and arbitrary detentions of Syrian civilians, especially agricultural and livestock workers in areas close to the border.

According to data collected by the Syrian press, since the start of the war in Syria, at least 34 Syrian citizens have been detained by the Israeli army, and many other remain with unknown whereabouts.

The Syrian authorities denounced these actions in multiple international forums as gross violations of international law and national sovereignty, and demanded an immediate end to the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan, a territory that has been under Tel Aviv’s control since 1967.
