The event, which will last until October 5, will feature more than 600 activities, including 182 book presentations, 33 lectures, 125 talks, 65 workshops and 103 colloquia, as well as recitals and artistic proposals.
The Vice-Minister of Cultural Identity and Citizenship, Pastor de Moya, and the Book Fairs’ director, Joan Ferrer, presented the details of the meeting, considered by the Ministry of Culture as the main literary event in the country and a space for international projection of Dominican culture.
The Latin American Literary Fairs and Festivals Network will be the guest of honor, which anticipates an important cultural exchange between writers and publishers in the region.
In 2024 the fair received more than 600 000 visitors, and brought together 19 countries, 377 publishing houses and 38 international authors.
Among the novelties of this year are the program Multiplicando Letras, which will integrate 75 workshop members from different provinces; and the return of the Bonolibro, which in 2024 distributed 21 000 copies free of charge.
The National Cinematheque will also have its own space with projections of short films, documentaries and cycles of national and international cinema.
The Ministry of Culture confirmed the participation of renowned international publishing houses such as Planeta, Anaya, Fondo de Cultura Economica, Ediciones Akal, Sial Pigmalion, Huerga & Fierro, Páginas de Espuma and the University of Salamanca.
