The demand for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade resonated on this street, occupied for almost an hour by the Citizens Against Economic Sanctions (CAES) organization, members of the diplomatic mission, and the island’s Medical Brigade.
Solidarity was evident even before the march began, with traditional dances and songs demanding an end to the blockade and, in general, the unilateral coercive measures Zimbabwe is suffering from the United States and its allies.

Addressing those present, Cuban Ambassador Susellys Perez Mesa emotionally expressed her gratitude for the convening of this march on the eve of a new and overwhelming victory for Cuba in the thirty-third vote demanding an end to the blockade.

Today, Cuba is expecting a powerful hurricane, a natural phenomenon that causes enormous damage, but our people live under worse and prolonged harassment that attempts to suffocate us. They will not succeed because we are not alone; we have millions of friends around the world like you, Perez Mesa stated.

The Ambassador stated that both countries share the battle against coercive measures that affect development and, at the same time, demonstrate solidarity, firmness, and unity that makes us stronger.
