The president arrived in the capital at the invitation of his counterpart, Denis Sassou-N’Guesso.

According to the Congolese Presidency, following talks between the two heads of state, which focused on deepening ties in sectors such as energy, agriculture, trade, and security, several agreements are expected to be signed on Tuesday.

The signing of agreements on cooperation in education, culture, and defense is also anticipated.

The presidents also discussed the security situation on the African continent, addressed issues related to the upcoming African Union summit, and exchanged views on the possible candidacy of former Senegalese President Macky Sall for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations.
