The Dulce Maria Loynaz Cultural Center—one of the major event’s satellite venues—brought together Cuban literary figures to celebrate the poetic career of the author, who was born in El Tigre, Anzoaregui, in 1962.
Cuban poets Alex Pausides and Maria De Los Angeles Polo, along with Venezuelan editor Gladis Ortega, highlighted the merits of Saab’s most extensive poetic anthology to date; the work spans 45 years of literary activity and features forewords by Latin American writers.
This text, published by the CubaPoesia Cultural Center, joins other books that enrich the Venezuelan intellectual’s body of work and have garnered critical acclaim, including *Cielo a Media Asta* (2003) and *Los Ninos del Infortunio* (2006)—his best-known work.
These titles, along with his 16 other poetry collections, have been published in Cuba, Russia, Italy, China, Egypt, Bulgaria, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and El Salvador, and translated into Arabic, Russian, Italian, Bulgarian, and Chinese.
Venezuela is participating in the 34th Havana International Book Fair with more than 150 titles from public, private, and independent publishing houses. Additionally, the country has sent a delegation aiming to showcase its publishing output at this renowned event.
