Prensa Latina learnt thay the organization questioned an arrest warrant issued by Florida authorities against Raul Castro, linking it to Washington’s policy of hostility toward Cuba.
The committee characterized the judicial measure as an expression of the pressure exerted against Cuba, aimed at reinforcing the isolation of a nation that has been subjected to U.S. economic, commercial, and financial sanctions for more than six decades.
The organization highlighted Raul Castro’s historic role in the Cuban Revolution, presenting him as a point of reference for those who defend national sovereignty.
“Raul Castro represents dignity, humanity, resistance, and life,” the Committee emphasized.
It also criticized U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accusing him of pressuring other governments to vote against the Cuban-sponsored resolution at the United Nations that calls for an end to the blockade.
Rubio’s actions disregard the autonomy of sovereign states and constitute acts of interference, the statement stressed.
The declaration linked U.S. policy toward Cuba to other international actions by Washington, denouncing what it described as a strategy of pressure against governments and political processes throughout Latin America. “Down with the genocidal blockade!” the text concluded, reiterating its solidarity with Cuba.
