Natalia Stadchenko, Deputy Director of Russia’s Federal Medical-Biological Agency, and Laureano Ortega, Special Representative of the Nicaraguan co-presidents for affairs with Russia, preside over the two-day event at the Olof Palme Convention Center.
On Monday, Co-president Rosario Murillo highlighted the importance of initiatives for the nations’ healthcare and well-being.
The congress, which features 40 international experts, follows a commemoration on Monday marking a decade of pharmaceutical cooperation between Managua and Moscow.
During the ceremony, Ortega thanked Russia for its support and reaffirmed Nicaragua’s commitment to further strengthening a relationship built on respect, equality, and collaboration in life and health.
The event is a new platform to assess the Nicaragua-Russia results and projects to expand pharmaceutical production capacity and access to medical treatments.
