UN vote in favor of Cuba highlighted from El Salvador

San Salvador, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) The vote in favor of Cuba at the United Nations reflects the fact that the world refuses to submit to the dictates of the U.S. empire, stated solidarity groups in El Salvador that support Cuba.

In a statement issued to celebrate the Caribbean nation’s victory, they described the UN decision to end the blockade against the island as historic and irrefutable—a vote that took place amidst intense diplomatic pressure, financial blackmail, and political strangulation tactics employed by the United States.

The document notes that Salvadoran solidarity groups marched on Saturday, October 24, driven by the certainty of victory.

It was a mobilization carried out with the urgency demanded by justice, intended to amplify the voice of humanity—a voice that was subsequently expressed at the UN.

The statement also calls for the immediate removal of Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, noting that the nation has always been a source of light, hope, medicine, and education for the world—never a threat.

“We demand,” it emphasizes, “an end to the financial persecution of the Cuban people and their leaders, as well as an end to threats of military aggression.”

This Saturday, Salvadoran supporters held a caravan-style march from the University of El Salvador to the Cuban diplomatic mission to reaffirm their opposition to the U.S. blockade and their support for the Caribbean nation.
