KCNA published a statement from Kim Yo-jong, director of the General Affairs Department at the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), who described the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)’s claims as “absurd gossip.”

Kim criticized the FBI for attributing the attack to hacker groups allegedly supported by the DPRK, describing the accusation as another political provocation.

The official noted that the United States has previously held the DPRK responsible for similar incidents, such as the Bybit case in 2025.

Kim said these allegations are intended to divert attention from domestic cyber fraud within the United States and are a provocation to disparage the DPRK’s sovereignty and international prestige.
