Cubans in Haiti condemn longest blockade in modern history

Port-au-Prince, Mar 29 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Haiti (ACRH) on Monday condemned the United States blockade against Cuba, which is considered 'the longest in modern history' and 'an act of war'.

The ACRH issued a communiqué in which it denounced the illegal policy ratified by both US Republicans and Democrats for 60 years, although it is based on extraterritorial laws and promotes all kinds of sanctions.

‘This set of criminal economic, political and social sanctions is the main obstacle to Cuba’s development,’ the organization charged, adding that shortages of food, materials, medicines, machinery and other supplies are the result of that hostile policy.

At a time when the Covid-19 pandemic caused a world economic crisis, the ACRH asked US President Joe Biden to heed millions of Cubans and friends of the Caribbean island who demand that the blockade be lifted.

In light of so much cruelty, Cubans in Cuba, the United States and around the world, following the legacy of the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, will continue being creative and will resist, Homeland or Death, for Life,’ they stated.

They assured that the people will continue resisting the onslaughts of ‘the worst economic blockade’, which is aimed at asphyxiating Cuba.
