This fear sparks from the social overflow reported during the Easter holiday when stopping people was impossible, especially in tourist destinations, where parties and crowds that did not comply with protection measures such as wearing face masks were reported.

There were many foreigners, especially in private beaches, crowded more than ever because most public beaches suspended their activities and did not allow people, in order to try to prevent a new surge of the pandemic, which has been well controlled so far.

Nevertheless, the IMSS claimed in a statement that it is prepared to face the surge with a number of general and intensive care hospital beds, which are ready in different hospitals under its management.

On Sunday, Mexico reported 136 deaths from Covid-19 and 1,263 new cases, but it is known that those figures are very partial, as in every weekend because laboratories work at half speed.
