The Cuban ambassador to that country, Zener J. Caro Gonzalez, held a meeting with the director general of the Pakistan Sports Board, Muhammad Asif Zaman, who praised the quality of Cuba’s sports movement, according to a diplomatic source.

Zaman referred to the Pakistani interest in having Cuban boxing and volleyball coaches to contribute to the preparation of their country’s athletes for the upcoming South Asian Games, an event they will host in 2023.

He also expressed his willingness to collaborate with the development in Cuba of specialties such as field hockey and racquetball, in which Pakistan has shown remarkable international results.

Zaman is a renowned sportsman in his country, as he became a member of the national squash team and excelled in international competitions of the armed forces, the source added.
