The president met via a video conference with collaborators from seven brigades that served in other countries and recently returned home.

The health specialists are part of the Henry Reeve Contingent, formed in 2005 at the initiative of President Fidel Castro, with the purpose of providing international assistance in disaster situations and serious epidemics.

Given the situation caused by Covid-19, dozens of countries have requested the Cuban medical contribution.

In recognition of the altruistic work of this collaboration, there is a growing international movement in favor of awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve Contingent.
