The suspect is in custody and the causes of his behavior are being probed, Buske said at a news conference.

The shooting occurred just hours after President Joe Biden announced a series of executive orders to cub gun violence.

Introducing the executive orders, Biden called gun violence in this country is an epidemic, and it is an international embarrassment.

In a speech at the White House gardens, President Biden explained that the executive orders would direct the Justice Department to write rules that would reduce the proliferation of ¨ghost guns,¨ homemade firearms often made from parts bought online, which do not have traceable serial numbers.

On the other hand, Biden insisted that the executive order does not affect the right to bear arms.

The CNN stated that these provisions are limited and the president must continue to pressure Congress to take stronger steps on this issue.
