During the meeting, held at the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s headquarters, Uto and Ramirez talked about the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The Cuban diplomat commented on the progress of Cuba’s five vaccine candidates developed by scientists from his country.

The Japanese minister conveyed his congratulations to President Miguel Diaz-Canel for his election as First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), during the recently concluded 8th Congress of that political organization.
