Nicaraguan legislators greet Prensa Latina for its anniversary

Managua, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) Sixty-two years after the founding of the Latin American News Agency, Prensa Latina, leaders of the Nicaraguan National Assembly (Parliament) sent it a message of congratulation.

We send a greeting to the brothers of Prensa Latina who have been working hard to spread the truth in the world, Gustavo Porras, president of the National Assembly, said.

These are 62 years of fighting alongside the Cuban people and those of other regions globally for their definitive liberation, he stressed.

Prensa Latina takes us back to its founding by Che (Ernesto Che Guevara), at a time when Cuba and Latin America had to have their own voice, which has been maintained for these 62 years, Congressman Edwin Castro said.

Prensa Latina emerged on June 16, 1959, in the context of the confrontation between the victorious Cuban Revolution and the disinformation campaigns orchestrated by US media monopolies of that time and the publications controlled by the Latin American oligarchies.
