Cuba reported record 2,698 new Covid-19 cases

Havana, Jun 27 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported on Sunday a record 2,698 new cases of Covid-19, the highest number confirmed in one day during the whole pandemic, national Chief Epidemiologist, Dr. Francisco Duran reported.

Thus, the total of positive cases rose to 182,354, while in the past 24 hours, 10 people died to the disease and the country accumulates 1,241 deaths since March 11, 2020, for a lethality rate of 0.68%.

So far, 38,924 patients have been admitted to hospital and isolation centers, of which 8,447 are suspected to have been infected; 18,294 are under surveillance and 12,184 are active cases.

Some 1.603 were released from hospital, raising the total of recovered cases to 168,872, for a recovery rate of 92.6%.

For the detection of the coronavirus, 33,981 samples were studied the day before, bringing the total of tests to 5,017,105 as a whole.
