President Nicolás Maduro condemns alleged US plans against Venezuela

Caracas, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Thursday condemned alleged U.S.-orchestrated aggression plans against Venezuela, in complicity with South American allies.

During a meeting with students, Nicolás Maduro warned about visits made by the Head of the Southern Command, Admiral Craig Faller and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency William Burns to Colombia and Brazil, holding meetings with senior political and military commanders of these two countries.

Maduro thinks that new plans and scenarios are being orchestrated to violate Venezuela´s sovereignty, before which he called to strengthen civic-military union to challenge future threats.

‘Information has come in that the heads of the Southern Command and the CIA are prowling around Colombia and Brazil to harm Venezuela,’ Maduro stressed.

In a recent statement from the Venezuelan Ministry of Defense, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) strongly rejected the visit to Colombian territory by Admiral Craig Faller, describing it as an act of interference and provocation.

The FANB questioned the presence of the military high command in the border region, ‘where irregular armed groups have been operating for decades with the acquiescence of the Colombian government and the deliberate absence of its military forces,’ he said.
