Russian president tightens control over arms circulation

Moscow, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that establishes stricter state control over arm circulation, the official legal information portal published on Friday.

According to the document, some amendments were carried out in the legislations over weapons and the basic aspects for the protection of citizens’ health in the Russian Federation.

The law also establishes the bases for depriving a citizen of the right to keep and bear arms, taking into account the investigation.

By law, gun owners must undergo these medical examinations at least once every five years.

On Thursday, Putin approved a law to toughen criminal liability for arms trafficking.
