Japan’s industrial production shrinks

Tokyo, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Japan's industrial production dropped 5.9 percent in May, compared to the previous month, according to an official report from the Government.

Regarding the same month in 2020, the indicator rose 22 percent, according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

May’s fall followed a 2.9-percent monthly increase in April.

The industries that showed the largest reductions in production in the fifth month of the year were automakers in the first place, followed by machinery and the electrical sector.
