In anticipation to Sanchez’s trip, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism Reyes Maroto paved the way with meetings with senior trade representatives from Joe Biden’s administration.

The president begins his journey in New York with the fundamental objective of detailing the investment opportunities Spain offers as of the arrival of European funds destined to the economic recovery.

Sanchez will meet in the Big Apple with representatives of large investment funds, among them JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Soros Fund Management, Bridgewater or Blackstonne.

The opening of the new economic and commercial office of the Spanish Embassy in the United States is the climax of his visit in the city of skyscrapers, where he agreed to hold meetings with Michel Bloomberg, chief executive of Bloomberg and former New York City Mayor, and Larry Fink, Chief Executive Officer of BlackRoc.

According to official sources, Sanchez will visit the NASA JPL laboratory in Los Angeles on Thursday, and talk with executives from large production companies such as Netflix and Universal.

According to La Moncloa Palace (governmental house), the idea of the trip is to encourage Spanish companies as part of their Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
