Echevarria, 22, breathed deeply, took the momentum race, stepped on the board with almost no margin with the clay and ‘flew’ to achieve his best result of the season to score in the final competition in that sport.

From the tactical point of view, the world bronze medalist in Doha 2019 explained that during the pace of the race he was thinking in a 8.20 meters or 8.30 meters and he did not work 100 percent of his possibilities.

Echevarria, the world indoors champion in Birmingham in 2018, has a personal record of 8.68 meters and is considered the right man to break the nine-meter barrier, according to experts who have analyzed his physical and technical capabilities. jg/iff/mh/jdg
