The diplomat assured the RIA Novosti news agency that the military exercises of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) affect the security of the region, and that is quite obvious that this causes, and does not prevent, conflict situations, as he said.

Pilipson stressed in this regard that Russia will continue to take measures to guarantee national security with the help of diplomacy and other instruments.

‘We have repeatedly warned that the escalation of political-military tension directly on our borders carries a burden of confrontation,’ he added.

The Naval Forces of Ukraine announced on Thursday the start of the Dive-2021 anti-mine exercises in the Black Sea, scheduled to last a week, together with the navies of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania and the United States.

The Cossack Mace 2021 maneuvers took place in southern Ukraine from July 12th to 24th, with the participation of military units from Ukraine itself, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden.

The Sea Breeze 2021 exercise took place in the same region from June 28th to July 10th with the attendance of NATO countries and that of some of their partners in the region.
