La Paz, (Prensa Latina) Members of the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) have arrived in Bolivia to present their report on the violation of human rights in the 2019 coup d'état.

This team conducted an eight-month investigation in the country, from which it interviewed 400 people, analyzed more than 120 000 files and heard testimonies from social organizations, as well as witnesses of the acts of violence and institutions.

The Government will accept the GIEI’s document on the events in the nation from September 1 to December 30, 2019, assured the presidential spokesman, Jorge Richter.

This document allows closing the investigation on the violence registered then and opens the beginning of processes against those responsible, explained the spokesman in declarations the day before to the program Las 7 en el 7 of Bolivia TV (7 on Bolivia TV 7).

He pointed out that in November 2019 at least 37 people were killed by bullet impacts, more than 800 injured, there were more than a thousand unjustly detained and other actions that not only reflect the massacres of Sacaba and Senkata, but of the entire territory.

The Bolivian Justice Minister, Ivan Lima, shared on his Twitter account that the document will be available from August 17, after it is delivered to President Luis Arce at the Casa Grande del Pueblo (headquarters of the Executive).

The specialists will be on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Senkata, Sacaba, Potosí, Sucre, Santa Cruz and Montero to expose and exchange with the victims, said the head.
