Czech President in intensive care

Prague, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) The president of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, is hospitalized in an intensive care unit at the Central Military Hospital in this capital, his personal doctor, Miroslav Zavoral, reported today.

The doctor refused to reveal the diagnosis of the 77-year-old president who was admitted to that institution several times in recent years, according to the national press.

Zeman underwent an operation in 2020 after a broken arm, has diabetic problems and suffers from neuropathy of the extremities that forced him to use a wheelchair.

On his back weighs the appointment of the new prime minister who will be in charge of the Government of this nation after the legislative elections whose results transcended today.

An unexpected turn in the counting of the votes gave the victory to the center-right alliance Spolu in those elections in which they obtained 27.78 percent of the votes against the official party Alliance of Discontented Citizens that won 27.14 .

The ruling political force reached those votes with 27 percent of popular support, enough to prevail over the two opposition coalitions, but in the middle of the campaign, Prime Minister Andrej Babis faced questions about his management in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. and entangled with justice.

Babis aspires to remain in the position and was received by Zeman on this day shortly before his entry, but the content of the bilateral dialogue is unknown.

The appointment process for the new government could be delayed due to Zeman’s entry, according to sources close to the president.
