Indian organizations reaffirm support for Cuba

New Delhi, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) The National Committee for Solidarity with Cuba and India´s Organization for Peace and Solidarity on Tuesday reaffirmed their support for the Cuban people and government and recalled the example of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the national school of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) H K S Surjeet Bhawan, in New Delhi, as a tribute to the 5th anniversary of Fidel Castro´s death.

Solidarity groups, members of communist parties, the National Federation of Women, as well as students and professors at the Jamia Millia Islamia University, among others, strongly rejected the US blockade and attacks on Cuba.

A photography exhibition on Fidel Castro and foreign policy of the Cuban Revolution, and the screening of “Fidel is Fidel” documentary by Cuban film director Roberto Chile were part of the activities conducted during the day.

On the other hand, the Charge d’Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in New Delhi Juan Carlos Marcof thanked in the name of Cuba the support sent by the Indian solidarity movement.

The Cuban diplomat highlighted the resumption of economic activities, especially tourism, and of the school year after nearly 80% of the Cuban population were fully vaccinated including children over 2 years.

Likewise, he reported on recent destabilizing attempts and unconventional war orchestrated and financed by the United States Cuba, providing significant amounts of money to subvert Cuba´s internal order. ´
