The theoretical meeting revisits the 40 years of testimony novel ‘Gallego’ (Galician), written in 1981 by the researcher and Honorary President of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
Organized by the Fernando Ortiz Foundation along with the City Historian Office, the event also counts on the significant collaboration of the Galician Chair of University of Havana. Held in mixed on-line and on-site platform with activities in the ‘Palacio del Segundo Cabo’ colonial palace and the ‘Lonja del Comercio’ building, as well as broadcasts on social networks.
The program includes 20 lectures, the screening of documentary ‘Gallego’, by director Manuel Octavio Gómez, who brings to the big screen the exploits of Mr. Ruiz, a character in Barnet’ s story, and the presentation of the novel with words of Lázaro Castilla.
The event has the support of the University of the Arts of Cuba, the José Martí University of Latin America in Mexico, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and the Cuban Book Institute.
