Kremlin states isolating Russia is impossible

Kremlin states isolating Russia is impossible
Moscow, March 5 (Prensa Latina) The Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, assured that the pressure of the punitive measures applied by several European countries and the United States cannot guarantee the isolation of a country as large as Russia.

“The world is too big for Europe and the United States to isolate any country,” stressed Peskov, who acknowledged, however, that Russia is being impacted by strong restrictive economic measures, but clarified that this does not mean its isolation.

Peskov expressed his hope that the countries of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which have taken “an excessively emotional position” and “refuse to understand many obvious things”, understand the reason of Moscow’s actions.

In his opinion, there are many other countries in the world that are “much more balanced” in their policies and “sometimes have a more reasonable attitude towards the dynamics of international relations,” he told reporters.

For Peskov, the current state of the economy will be replaced by rapid growth, as soon as foreign companies return to the Russian market and show an interest in catching up.

“Russia was, is and will always be a country that seeks mutually beneficial relations with foreign companies, a country interested in being attractive for investment,” he said.

However, he accepted that the country is going through “a moment in which it is almost impossible to talk about attractiveness for investment”, although he expressed his confidence that “times are changing rapidly, and the time for rapid economic growth will soon return.”
