According to the COE, the warning was issued due to possible flooding of rivers, streams and ravines due to heavy rains expected to fall across the country.

The National Meteorological Office forecast for Saturday moderate to heavy downpours, electrical storms and occasional wind gusts over much of the country, to extend into the afternoon and evening, and will be more noticeable in the north, northeast, northwest regions and Cibao.

The Center recommended that the population residing in the provinces on alert to follow the guidelines of the civil protection organizations.
