Cuba reports 32 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, May 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Monday reported 32 new Covid-19 cases, 36 medical discharges and no deaths due to complications related to the disease in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 1,248 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 1,021 of whom are suspected cases, 35 are under epidemiological surveillance and 192 are active cases.

Of the new cases, 31 were contacts of confirmed patients and the source of contagion was not identified in one case.

At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that to date, the number of recovered patients rose to 1,096,510 (99.2 percent of all cases).

Of the active cases, 188 are clinically stable, while four persons are seriously ill in intensive care units.

So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,105,290 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020.

The death toll remains at 8,529, MINSAP noted.

For several weeks, Cuba has maintained a downward trend of Covid-19 contagions, thanks to the established hygienic-sanitary measures and the vaccination level achieved with the homegrown vaccines, health authorities stated.
