Russia’s trade with BRICS increased 38 percent early this year

Moscow, Jun 22 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted that national trade with Brazil, India, China and South Africa increased 38 percent in the first three months of 2022, equivalent to 45 billion dollars.

In his video message to the participants in the Business Forum of the BRICS group, Putin said that Russia’s presence in these four countries is expanding, its oil supplies to China and India are growing significantly, and cooperation in the sphere agriculture is developing dynamically.

“Russia is exporting large quantities of fertilizers to the BRICS countries. Russian IT companies are expanding their operations in India and South Africa, and our satellites already make television available to 40 million Brazilians,” he said.

According to Putin, despite all the challenges and difficulties, the business circles of the BRICS group are constantly expanding their ties in trade, finance and investment.

In this regard, he highlighted the negotiations to open Indian chain stores in this country and the increase in the quantities of automobiles, equipment and machinery from China in the domestic market.

Putin invited the BRICS countries to use the Russian financial system, which, he said, is open to connect the group’s banks, taking into account that reliable alternative mechanisms for international payments are being established among the partners.

The president described as “very relevant” the fact that the theme of the event is “deepening the commercial association of the BRICS countries to create a better future for global development”, and also considered it relevant that the forum’s agenda addresses concerns about how to guarantee development sustainable development of the world economy, maintain its open character, strengthen cooperation in the digital economy and green growth, modernize industry and build new logistics and transport chains.
