Kremlin: Russia does not attack civilian targets in Ukraine

Rusia, Ucrania, conflicto
Moscow, Jul 1 (Prensa Latina) Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov reaffirmed that Russian troops do not fire at civilians during the military operation in Ukraine, following an alleged missile launch on a block of flats in Odessa.

“I would like to remind you once again of the words of the president (Vladimir Putin) that the Russian Armed Forces do not target civilian targets and infrastructure in the course of the special military operation,” the presidential spokesman stressed during a press release. Peskov also said that the Russian troops, however, do target ammunition depots, companies dedicated to the adaptation, repair and storage of war matériel, mercenary staging and training areas, particularly foreign ones, and nationalist elements.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the province of Odessa, in southern Ukraine, said that at least 19 civilians, including an 11-year-old boy, were killed, and another 38 people, including six minors, were hospitalized as a result of a missile strike on a nine-story residential building and a summer resort in the Belgorod-Dniestrovsky district on the night between June 30th and July 1st.
