Cuba Ratifies Commitment to UNESCO Pillars

Havana, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez ratified today the Caribbean island's commitment to multilateralism, peace, sustainable development, solidarity and international cooperation.

In the context of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), he said these pillars support more than seven decades of mutual cooperation.

Regarding the anniversary, the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, highlighted the organization’s mandate to build a better possible world, without blockades or unilateral sanctions.

This is a cooperation of which we are proud, he affirmed and congratulated UNESCO for so many years of useful collaboration for the nation and for the rest of the world, and in particular the director general, Audrey Azoulay, “who directs with particular sensitivity ».

Cuba entered UNESCO on August 29, 1947.
