The country has reached 44,621,319 coronavirus-infected people since 2020. With 12 new deaths reported on Wednesday, India´s overall death toll jumped to 528,847, according to official data.

To date, over 2.191 billion vaccine doses have been applied in India, while 44,065,963 patients have been discharged from hospital, for a domestic recovery rate of 98.76%.
