Airstrikes destroy power facility in Ukrainian region

Kiev, Oct 19 (Prensa Latina) The mayor of the city of Krivoi Rog, Aleksandr Vilkul, reported that a Russian missile destroyed an energy facility in the city, in the region of Dnepropetrovsk.

Air raid alarms were triggered on Wednesday for the tenth consecutive day throughout Ukraine, as per the Zerkalo Nedeli (“Mirror of the Week”) newspaper.

The map published by the newspaper on Telegram shows that the alarm was declared in the Dniepropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, Chernigov and Kharkov regions, as well as in the territories of the Zaporozhye region controlled by Kiev.

In addition, the air raid alarm was declared in the regions of Kirovograd, Poltava and Cherkasy, central Ukraine, local authorities said on Wednesday.

Authorities in the Odessa and Nikolayev regions also activated sirens and advised residents to head to shelters.

Since last October 10th, Russia has conducted air strikes en masse using high-precision missiles and kamikaze drones against command centers, communications infrastructure and power facilities in Ukraine in retaliation for the terrorist attacks of the Ukrainian government, supported of the United States and NATO member countries.

The Russian forces launched a series of retaliatory strikes after the October 8th attack on the Kerch Bridge, which connects the Crimean peninsula with the Russian mainland. The attack, attributed to Ukraine’s special services, left four civilians dead.
