Chilean organizations demand end of US blockade against Cuba

Santiago, Chile, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) Dozens of members of the Chilean trade union, political and social organizations signed a letter addressed to President Gabriel Boric to ask him to make diplomatic efforts to achieve the end of the US blockade against Cuba.

The letter recalls that the Caribbean nation has been supportive and generous to the Chilean people in the face of several catastrophes as the 2010 earthquake when it sent two emergency hospitals for Rancagua and Chillán to assist the victims.

Cuba, which has been blocked for more than 60 years by the great power on the planet, trained free of charge more than 400 Chilean doctors who are currently serving in our hospitals and clinics, the text signed by members of the Bicentennial Union of the Peoples-Chile Chapter states.

The organization denounces that the United States continues implementing different variations of its Monroe Doctrine, America for the Americans.

The letter asks the president to condemn the interference in the internal affairs of sovereign States and demand respect for the United Nations Charter and international law.
