Started in Ethiopia African Forum on women, peace and security

Addis Ababa, Dec 14 (Prensa Latina) The 3rd Forum on Women, Peace and Security in Africa began under the theme "Taking advantage of monitoring to improve the participation and leadership of women in Peace Processes in Africa."

Among others, the goal of the meeting is to reflect on strategies to strengthen the performance of young people in security and to evaluate the execution of existing mechanisms, using the Continental Results Framework, according to the African Union.

Identifying ways to promote gender equality in peace efforts and enhancing exchanges between regional platforms are some of the results to which the organization aims.

The Forum was organized by the Office of the AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security, under the leadership of Sahle-Work Zewde, President of Ethiopia, and will conclude tomorrow Thursday.

Zewde led the opening ceremony, which was also attended by officials from different entities, groups or organizations in Africa and guests from the continent and the rest of the world.
