Russia and Belarus finalize economic agreements

Moscow, Dec 27 (Prensa Latina) The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, assured that he agreed with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on many economic issues to be finalized by the governments of their countries.

President Lukashenko, who is participating in the Informal Summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in St. Petersburg, added that he discussed pending issues with Putin and managed to reach the proposed objectives meanwhile the dialogue between Minsk and Moscow continues..

The president also thanked his Russian colleague for his invitation to come to Moscow and the welcome reception he received in the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, where women from Belarus are preparing to fly soon into space.

Last week both presidents held a meeting in Minsk, where they discussed important aspects of common security and defense, as well as the development on collaboration in the economic sphere.

A high point of the talks referred to the price of Russian energy resources for Belarus, something that the leaders decided to through dialogue and understanding.
