Cuba reports 24 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths

Havana, May 9 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Tuesday reported 24 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of contagions to 103 at present, and no deaths.

According to the closing report on May 8 at midnight, 34 patients were discharged and the number of recovered patients rose to 1,104,815.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,113,507 citizens have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The report states that no one died as a result of the disease and the death toll remains at 8,530.

According to MINSAP, 90.7 percent of the Cuban population has been fully vaccinated, while 8,724,749 people have been administered booster doses of Cuba’s homegrown vaccines
