Bolsonaro claims to be unaware of false Covid-19 vaccination cards

Brasilia, May 16 (Prensa Latina) Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday claimed before the Federal Police (PF) he was unaware of insertion of false data in the Covid-19 vaccination cards and that he did not even have any reason to do so.

Bolsonaro was investigated into an alleged scheme of manipulation of Covid-19 cards that would have benefited him, his young daughter, Laura, his former orderly Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, and family members.

According to the G1 portal, as there are many characters in the operation, the PF questioned Bolsonaro about each of them and their possible involvements.

He was asked if he was aware of the fraud and if the order to access the system of the Ministry of Health, in which the data on Covid-19 vaccination were inserted and then removed, came from him.

In addition, he was asked about any determination that would link him to the acts committed by certain individuals who were arrested, among them Cid.

Questioned about his daughter’s false Covid-19 vaccination card, Bolsonaro replied she was 12 when she traveled to the United States and on that occasion she entered the United States declaring herself unvaccinated.

TV Globo found that Bolsonaro´s and Laura´s false Covid-19 vaccination cards occurred on December 21, just before traveling to the United States.

“I never said I received the [Covid-19] vaccine. I was never called for vaccination card in the United States. There is no manipulation by my side,” Bolsonaro said.
