Explosion derails eight wagons in Crimea

Moscow, May 18 (Prensa Latina) An explosion derailed eight wagons with grains in the Russian peninsula of Crimea, Regional Parliament Speaker Vladimir Konstantinov informed on Thursday.

“The explosion occurred due to the intervention of unauthorized persons. The police are working on site, and we will wait for official information,” Konstantinov said.

The Crimean Railway reported that the incident occurred due to the “interference of unauthorized persons in the work of railway transport.” A repair crew on railway transport arrived at the scene.

Crimea Governor Sergei Aksionov stated that the movement of electric trains along the Simferopol-Sevastopol route has been temporarily suspended. Passengers will be transported to these stations by bus.

Aksionov added that he is in control of the situation.
