China rejects U.S. offenses to repatriate fugitives

Beijing, Jun 21 (Prensa Latina) China on Wednesday rebuffed the U.S. offenses against President Xi Jinping as well as obstacles to capture and repatriate fugitives.

Mao Ning, spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, described as “extremely absurd, irresponsible and a political provocation” President Biden´s comment on the Chinese leader.

Joe Biden said Tuesday that Xi “was embarrassed” by tensions linked to recent downing of alleged Chinese spy balloon over U.S. airspace.

According to Mao Ning, Biden´s statements are contrary to reality, violate diplomatic protocols and constitute a serious affront to China’s political dignity.

On the other hand, Mao expressed his opposition to the United States’ defamation and legal challenges to Beijing’s efforts to pursue fugitives and repatriate them along with stolen goods.

She recalled that fighting off transnational crimes, capturing international fugitives and recovering assets is a just cause worldwide.

Mao Ning called for Joe Biden to correct his mistakes, fulfill his obligations and stop being a haven for criminals.
