“Our memory takes us to so many deeds of Nobility, Bravery, in commitments to the people, to the homeland and to all the just and Blessed causes that have allowed strengthening the spirit and advancing in the historical project of the Sandinista National Liberation Front,” a statement released on Wednesday said.
The text highlighted the importance of such a project to overcome poverty step by step and to achieve new victories in life and the right to the well-being of families with the joy of living in peace.
The document referred to the 45 years of the guerrilla operation “Death to Somocismo Carlos Fonseca Amador” carried out in 1978 by the members of the Sandinista commando Rigoberto López Pérez, with the objective of strengthening the armed insurrection and destroying the Somocista National Guard.
It also mentioned the 44th anniversary of the founding of the Sandinista Youth organization on July 19th and the 43rd anniversary of the national literacy crusade, an initiative that taught thousands of Nicaraguans to read and write.
“56 years after those heroic deeds of the undefeated Guerrillas that forged life and Hope, consolidated longings and convictions, made us more solid in the certainty of homeland, of the continuity of Augusto C. Sandino in Pancasán, where the clamor became flesh, holy blood, Mystery unveiled and incarnated in all the National geography (…),” the statement of the Government concluded.
