The Foreign Ministry stated that the tariff, trade, science and technology, and chip wars are not competition but a behavior of zero-sum thinking of the Cold War.

With this trend, the United States is “essentially trying to deprive the Chinese people of their rights to choose their development path independently, seek a better life, develop and realize national reunification legitimately,” the Ministry stated.

“China resolutely opposes the behavior of containment, restraint, and suppression in the name of competition,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin underscored.

According to the spokesman, this will only lead the two nations to confrontation and conflict “and push the world into a new Cold War of division and turmoil.”

China-US relations have hit the worst moment in history due to the US economic war and its interference in domestic issues such as the Taiwan one.
