Air Europa to fly to Cuba with biofuel

Cepsa will supply 14.4 tons of SAF to Air Europa for one year, which will help the airline meet the objectives set by the European Union (EU) in the ReFuelEU Aviation initiative.

Perelló explained that the EU plans for European airlines to implement sustainable fuels increasingly to incorporate from two by 2025 to six percent by 2030, and 70 percent by 2050.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) estimates that SAF will contribute to reducing 65 percent of the emissions that aviation needs to achieve the net zero goal by 2050.
