Ecuador ratifies Guevara’s principles in social struggles nationwide

Quito, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) Cubans and friends of the country in Ecuador ratified the prevalence of Ernesto Che Guevara's principles in the social struggles nationwide, on the 56th anniversary of his assassination.

During a virtual meeting in Quito, representatives of social movements and solidarity with Cuba praised the example of the Argentinean politician, nationalized Cuban, as well as his internationalist principles and struggle for social equity.

Attendees of the homage paid to the Heroic Guerrilla screened the documentary Ernesto Guevara alias Che, by the Spanish-Mexican writer and historian Francisco Ignacio Taibo alias Paco.

The audiovisual material is a biography that reveals a living character, full of strength, changeable and contradictory, who was a key player in the great project of the Revolution in Latin America during the 1960s.

It narrates Che’s last moments until his assassination in 1967, in a public school in La Higuera small Bolivian town, in the foothills of the Andes.

The Cuban Ambassador to Ecuador Basilio Gutierrez commented that he had the honor of visiting those areas of Che’s final route in that Bolivian town, so there he realized that Che was still alive among its inhabitants. Nowadays, many of the inhabitants call him Saint Ernesto of La Higuera, the diplomat reiterated.
